The steps below detail how to add a custom user in the Cisco Collaboration 11.0 v1 demonstration and provision them with the Enhanced Endpoint Services bundle. Enhanced Endpoint Services provides the user with an endpoint of your choice, a directory number, and voicemail services.
Many salespeople would like to demonstrate the Collaboration solutions with the phones and other devices assigned to the person to whom they are actually presenting. This gives a more personal touch to the presentation and keeps the customers better engaged. This Show Me How details how you can do this.
There are two ways to add a new or custom user. The first is you can run a custom Cisco dCloud script on AD1 and then sync it to Cisco Prime Collaboration. The second is adding a custom user directly to Cisco Prime Collaboration. Below is a brief explanation for both methods that helps you choose one of the options:
1. Adding a customer user to the AD1 (using the RUI Script) and synchronizing with Cisco UCM and Cisco Prime Collaboration. Advantages with this method are the user credentials would be controlled from AD1, can be synchronized to all other UC applications, email ID would be created automatically, and this is the recommended method if you would like to add multiple users.
2. Adding a customer user locally to Cisco Prime Collaboration. The important difference with this method is this user is only existent on Cisco Prime Collaboration locally and would not be synchronized to any other UC server. User credentials need to be locally created on Cisco Prime Collaboration and would not be controlled by AD1. This method is recommended if you do not want to synchronize with any other UC and AD1 server and you only need to create one user.
If you chose first method, follow the procedure below to add the user to AD1 and then synchronize with Cisco UCM and Cisco Prime Collaboration.
If you chose the second method you can directly go to the section Configuring a Custom user in Cisco Prime Collaboration.
Adding a Customer User in AD1
- Login to WKST1 as dcloudamckenzie with Password: dCloud12345!.
- Go to Start > Computer > C: drive > dCloud > CreateUsers.
- Open the excel file named userlist_full_dcloud.xlsm.
- This spread sheet is already populated with user details. You can update existing user details as you wish, such as your own first name, last name, and username.
- You can delete rest of the users (rows) if you do not want to provision then.
- In Column N of the spreadsheet, click on the Create USERS button.

- A new Command prompt opens up as shown, it will give updates while creating users in AD and Mail1

- After creating the users in AD1 and Mail1, the command prompt window closes itself.
- Users should be created with username (samaaccountname – Column A) you mentioned in the Excel sheet (on WKST1) and password dCloud12345!.
- Once user(s) are created, login to Cisco UCM and perform the LDAP Synchronization.
- Open a new browser and drop down the Collaboration Admin Links and choose Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
- Go to System > LDAP > LDAP Directory.
- Click Find and choose dCloud_LDAP.
- Click Perform Full Sync Now. The synchronization will take several seconds.
- Open a new tab and login to the Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning (CPC) server and synchronize with AD using the following procedure.
- Login to CPC as globaladmin with Password: dCloud123!.
- From the home page, click on Provisioning Setup.
- On the right side, hover over the “i” symbol and a new window shows up. Click Start Domain Synchronization and then Start LDAP Synchronization one after another. This will Sync the newly added users to CPC.
- Now that the user is created in AD1, you can skip down to the Adding Enhanced Endpoint Services to the Newly Created User section.

Adding a Custom User in Cisco Prime Collaboration
- Launch Firefox from the desktop and click Collaboration Admin Links > Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning. Login with username: globaladmin, password: dCloud123!.
- From the home page, like the Deploy drop down and choose User Provisioning.
- Click Add to add a new local user that is not currently integrated with Active Directory in this demonstration.
- Enter user details as required. See the figure below for more information.
- Under Auto-Provisioning Parameters, choose the following options:
- Click the drop-down menu for Auto-Provision based on and choose Employee
- Click the drop-down menu for Service Area and choose Richardson
- Click the drop-down menu for Line type and choose either Auto-Assigned Line or Chosen Line
- If you choose Auto-Assigned Line it will assign the directory number for you from the pool
- If you choose Chosen Line, you will need to enter the directory number in the format +1XXXXXXXXXX
- Enter any additional information you would like under Additional Settings.
- Click Save and View Services.

Adding Enhanced Endpoint Services to the Newly Created User
Once the user is added/synchronized using one of the above methods, follow the below procedure to provision Enhanced Endpoint Services.
- Login to Cisco Prime Collaboration and go to the user you created/synchronized, if you are not yet logged in.
- Open a new browser and drop down Collaboration Admin Links and choose Cisco Prime Collaboration.
- Login as globaladmin with Password: dCloud123!.
- From home page, click User Provisioning and then click the user you just created.
- Click New Service on the left hand side to start provisioning a service. On the following screen, the Richardson Service Area will be auto selected. Click Continue.

- Choose Endpoint Services from the available services and click Continue.
- On the following screen, click the Endpoint Type drop down and choose any of the options listed below. If you are adding Jabber, please add the device description as shown below:
- Jabber for Windows or Jabber for MAC – UCSFLUSER (UCSF+username)
- Jabber for iPad – TABLUSER (TAB+username)
- Jabber for iPhone – TCTLUSER (TCT+username)
- Jabber for Android – BOTLUSER (BOT+username)
- For all other physical devices (like 9971, EX, or DX devices) – MAC address of the phone
- Enter the endpoint information as needed. The device name must be formatted as explained above. Click Continue.

- On the following screen, click Line  – Not Assigned as shown below:

- Click the Line Type drop down and choose either Auto-Assigned Line or Chosen Line. Use the information below to make your choice:
- Auto-Assigned Line would assign a DN from pre-defined numbers (+19725556071 to +19725556500)
- With Chosen Line, you can choose which DN you would like to assign. You would use this method if you created the user in AD1 with the RUI script. Also, you can assign any temporary DN (like 1116) and once the phone auto registers, you can use the self-provisioning functionality to assign a new DN like +197255560XX. See the Cisco UCM Self-Provisioning SMH for more information [Show Me How]. The Self Provisioning ID is found on the End user page in the Cisco Unified Communications Manager as described in the following section.
- Enter Line Description, Alerting Name, ASCII Alerting Name.
- Check the box next to Primary Extension. This is a Mandatory field.
- If you picked the Chosen Line option, you would enter the DN of your choice in the Directory Number field, for example +197255560XX (Range 6071to 6500) and click Continue.

- On the following page, enter the voicemail details:
- Voicemail Alias: enter the chose username (luser)
- Display Name: enter the local user’s first and last name
- Corporate email ID: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Enter the rest of the details as needed and click Continue
- Finally, click Confirm on the following page to provision the phone, line, and voicemail to the user.
Provisioning IM and Presence Services
- You just provisioned a user for a physical phone. If you would like to provision IM and Presence services for this user, follow the instructions in this section.
- Click User Provisioning and click on the name of the user you provisioned.
- On the right side, in the Service Details window, click the “i” and choose the Change option on the pop-up window.

- On the Configure Service page, under the Service Information section, click the drop-down menu for Service Template and choose Built-in Template.
- Click the drop-down menu for Advanced Order Configuration and check the option for Enable User for Unified IM and Presence. You may make any additional changes to user information you desire and then click Continue.
- On the next page, click Confirm to provision IM and Presence services.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager
- Once the user is provisioned, note your Self-Provisioning ID. It will be all of the digits in your phone number. For example, if your number is +1XXXYYYZZZZ, then your Self-Provisioning ID is XXXYYYZZZZ.
- If you would like to change your Self-Provisioning ID, perform the following:
- Click User Provisioning and click the user name of your new user.
- On the right side, click the “i” for User Services (User Service Enabled) and click the Change option on the pop-up window.
- Click the drop-down menu for Advanced Order Configuration and change the Self-Provisioning User ID to the number you would like to use, such as 1234 for example.

- Open a new tab in Firefox and click the home button. Click Collaboration Admin Links > Cisco Unified Communications Manager. Login as username: amckenzie with password: dCloud123!. If you are using the demo workstation, you would not be prompted for user ID/password since SSO is configured.
- Click the User Management drop down and choose End User.
- Enter the name of user you created in the Search field and click Find. First name should be sufficient.
- Click on the user ID and on the end user page note down the Self-Service User ID. You will be asked for this if you want to provision an auto registered phone to a specified user or if you have picked the Chosen Line option.
- Click Save.
Self-Provisioning IP Phones
This section is for provisioning IP phones that you assigned a temporary DN to using the Chosen Line option. If you do not have IP phones or picked the Auto-Assigned Line option, you can skip to the next section.
- Identify the phone you would like to provision and connect the phone to the router using a network cable. Be sure to plug into the connection labeled Network on the IP phone.
- Once the IP phone is provisioned, dial 1111.
- The IVR will prompt you to press XXXX# on the IP phone, where XXXX is the Self-Provisioning ID for the custom user that you noted in the previous section.
- The IVR confirms the self-provisioning was successful and that the phone will reset and provision.
- Check that the User ID and extension on the phone is the same as the custom user you created.
- It may take 3-4 minutes for your device to restart and re-register.
If the phones do not provision, it could be because they are already provisioned from another demonstration. Follow the steps below to delete the device from Communications Manager and try Steps 1 – 6 from this section again.
- To delete a provisioned phone, on Workstation 1, open Internet Explorer and click Collaboration Admin Links > Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
- You should automatically login via Single-Sign On. If you do not, then login as administrator with password dCloud12345!.
- Click Device > Phone and click Find. Locate the device you are trying to provision. If it is present, click the box next to it and click Delete Selected.
- Repeat the self-provisioning steps again.
Log into the Self-Care Portal
- On Workstation 1, double click the Internet Explorer shortcut on the desktop.
- Click Collaboration User Links > CUCM User Pages. Click Yes to continue.
- Login with the user ID and password for the custom user you created. Click Sign In to login.
- Click Phones > My Phones.
- Click on any of the Company Phones and choose Edit.
- Edit the description of the phone.
- Click any phone and choose Settings. View the options you can change for the provisioned phones.
Configure Single Number Reach
- Go back to Phones > My Phones. Click the + symbol under Additional Phones.
- For US phones, enter a mobile phone number beginning with 91, then the area code, and then enter a description for the phone. For international dialing use 9 + Country code + phone number.
- Check the Single Number Reach box to enable the feature and click Save.
- To test this, call the extension for the custom user you created from Anita Perez’s device. Do not answer the call, but wait and it should ring the cellular phone you assigned as the Single Number Reach contact.
Additional Phone Settings
- Click Phones > Phone Settings. Go through the available options one by one to see what is under each choice.
- Click Phones > Call Forwarding. Click through the available options.
- Click Voicemail > Dial Voicemail Preferences IVR.
- Choose your provisioned phone from the Calling Device dropdown menu.
- Click Dial. This causes your phone to dial into Unity Connection voicemail.
- Either hang up using Cisco WebDialer or your IP phone.
