Supported Routers and Configurations

The table below lists supported routers for Cisco dCloud along with tested router configurations.

Endpoint routers used with Cisco dCloud must support Cisco® Easy VPN. At this time, routers running Cisco IOS XE do not support Easy VPN and cannot be used to connect endpoints to Cisco dCloud.

Cisco IOS Versions

A newer Cisco IOS version may be available for your device. If you encounter problems using a newer Cisco IOS version, please contact Cisco dCloud Support.

Endpoint routers used with Cisco dCloud must support Cisco® Easy VPN. At this time, routers running Cisco IOS XE do not support Easy VPN and cannot be used to connect endpoints to Cisco dCloud.

Router and Endpoint Recommendations

For lists of routers and endpoints (IP phones and TelePresence units) recommended for use with dCloud content, refer to the Cisco dCloud BOM.

Unsupported Routers

You can register an unsupported router using the Cisco dCloud Router Wizard by picking a supported router model and entering the serial number (SN) of your router. You will need to download the generated configuration file and then manually edit it to make the router work on Cisco dCloud. The Cisco dCloud team does not provide support for configuring or troubleshooting unsupported routers.

Endpoint Use by dCloud Content

To find out the required and optional endpoints that you can use with a demonstration, lab, or other dCloud content, click the content’s More Information link and see the Requirements section.

Guides and scripts in the Documentation section explain how to use the endpoints during an active session.

Get a Router or Endpoint

Select a recommended router or endpoint from the Cisco dCloud BOM and order it using your preferred Cisco method. Cisco users can borrow a router or endpoint through Cisco’s Demo Loan Program. Pre-configured routers are not available for Cisco dCloud. Third-party endpoints are not available via Cisco dCloud.

Wireless Regulatory Domain and Approval

Some dCloud content requires the use of wireless routers and access points. Users are responsible for verifying approval for use in their individual countries. To verify approval and to identify the regulatory domain that corresponds to a particular country, visit: http://www.cisco.com/go/aironet/compliance.

Split DNS Feature

If a 1811W or 1861 router is not upgraded to the recommended Cisco IOS version, the split DNS feature may not work properly. As a workaround to upgrading the router, use the IP address instead of the DNS names in the demonstration URLs.
