Clearing Web Cache on BYOD Endpoints

To ensure accurate behavior of the BYOD endpoint browser for all BYOD Hosted Demo scenarios, the Internet cache should be cleared before and after the demo.

Firefox v37 +

  1. Navigate to Tools > Options.  Alternately, click Ctrl+Shift+Delete and skip to Step 4.
  2. Click Privacy.
  3. Click clear your recent history under History.
  4. Select Everything from the Time range to clear drop-down list.
  5. Select the options from the Details drop-down list.
  6. Confirm by clicking Clear Now.

Internet Explorer v10 +

  1. Navigate to Tools > Internet Options.
  2. In the General tab, click Delete browsing history on exit under Browsing History.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Select Temporary Internet files and website files, Cookies and website data, and History from the Delete Browsing History window.
  5. Click Delete.

Google Chrome v39+

  1. From the Tools menu, select Settings.
  2. Click History.
  3. Click Clear browsing data.
  4. Check Cached images and files.
  5. In the Obliterate the following items from drop-down list, choose the beginning of time.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.

Safari for Mac OS X

  1. Click the Safari menu.
  2. Select Empty Cache.
  3. Click Empty.

Safari on the iPad and iPhone

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Safari.
  3. Select Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Click Clear at the confirmation window.

Google Nexus 7 (Android)

Procedures vary by Android device.  The instructions below are for Google Nexus, the most popular Android device.

  1. Launch the Browser.
  2. Select the Menu button.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Privacy.
  5. Select Clear Browsing Data.
  6. Select Clear browsing history, Clear the cache and Clear cookies, site data from the list and click Clear.
