Cisco DX70 and DX80 Setup Instructions

The steps below detail how to initialize, provision, and setup the Cisco DX70 and DX80 devices.

Provisioning

  1. Connect your DX70/80 to your Cisco dCloud router.
  2. The device will auto register with Communications Manager with a temporary (11XX) extension.
  3. Dial 1111 on the device to enter the Self-Provisioning IVR.
  4. Press XXXX# on the IP phone, where XXXX is the four-digit extension number of the user for whom you are provisioning this device.
  5. The IVR confirms the self-provisioning was successful and that the phone will reset and provision.

 

Email Setup

  1. On the DX70/80 device, press Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Choose Corporate to set up the demonstration email account for the user.
  3. Enter the email ID and the password for your specific demonstration user. Email address should end in ***@dcloud.cisco.com.
  4. Choose Next.
  5. On the next screen enter the domain name and password for the user. Domain name should be, dcloud\***username***
  6. Enter the mail server as mail1.dcloud.cisco.com
  7. Click the check mark for Use secure connection (SSL) and Accept all SSL certificates.
  8. Leave the port number as 443 and choose Next.
  9. The new email account will be added to the device. Go back to Settings & Accounts, you should see a new account called Corporate.
  10. You can click on the account and synchronize all emails, Calendar events, Contacts or you can choose individually which ones to synchronize.

 

Cisco Jabber Setup

  1. Go to Apps on the DX70/80 device and choose Jabber.
  2. The Jabber app will open, accept all terms and conditions and continue.
  3. For the account type information, choose CUCM IM and Presence.
  4. Enter the username and password for the demonstration user to whom you are assigning this device.
  5. Accept any certificate warnings by clicking Continue.

 

Cisco WebEx Setup

  1. On the DX70/80 device, press Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
  2. Choose the WebEx option.
  3. Enter the email ID and the password for your specific demonstration user, then press Next. Email address should end in ***@dcloud.cisco.com.
  4. You will be signed in to us-gcd.webex.com.

 

Device Wireless and VPN Setup

If you wish to use the DX70/80 device without connecting to a dCloud router, you can enable the wireless network and establish a VPN to the dCloud demonstration.

  1. Disconnect the ethernet cable.
  2. On the DX70/80 device, press Settings and enable the Wi-Fi on the device.
  3. After turning on Wi-Fi, it will show all available wireless networks. Choose your network and connect to it.
  4. Once you are connected to Wi-Fi, press Settings > More > VPN.
  5. Add the following VPN Profile:
    1. Description: RTP dCloud VPN
    2. Server Address: Use the following based on your datacenter:
      1. Americas – dcloud-rtp-anyconnect.cisco.com
      2. EMEAR – dcloud-lon-anyconnect.cisco.com
      3. APJ – dcloud-sng-anyconnect.cisco.com
      4. GC – dcloud-chi-anyconnect.cisco.com
  6. Choose the connection added above and it will prompt for username and password. Get these details from your demonstration and add them here. [Show Me How]
  7. Accept any security warnings. You are now connected by VPN to the demonstration. Your Phone, Jabber, Email services can be configured as described above or if they are already created, those services will restart automatically.
