Based on the throughput specified for each protocol, the wireless planning mode in Prime Infrastructure calculates the total number of access points required to provide optimum coverage in your network. Planning mode uses AP type and Antenna pattern information for calculating the number of access points required. Planning mode is a predictive survey that uses information about the coverage area to predict the number and placement of APs.
This demonstration allows Cisco Field and Channel Partners to use the wireless planning tool functionality of Cisco Prime Infrastructure to conduct a predictive site survey. Prime Infrastructure planning mode enables you to calculate the number of access points required to cover an area by placing fictitious access points on a map and allowing you to view the coverage area.
